Subject: Sales tax exemption letter

Respected Mr. Peter,

I am Martin Paul, Sales tax officer at Greenfield Sales Enterprises. I am writing this letter on behalf of my organisation to request you for the sales tax exemption for the month of January 2013. This is in reference to the tax statement as submitted by you on 15th January, asking the payment of $1000 as sales tax to your office.

Sir, the current status of our organisation is financially unstable. Due to the sudden decrease in the marketing sales and other related factors; our sales organisation is facing financial crises. We are not in a position to pay $1000 as a part of our monthly income as sales tax return to you. We hereby request you for the release of taxes by some convenient percentage. The tax exemption is important for us to re-settle the disturbed condition of our organisation.

We sincerely request you for the tax exemption. We hope that you understand our condition for not being able to pay you the mentioned taxes. We are herewith enclosing the documents to support our reason. We hope to get a positive reply from your end.

Thanking you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Martin Paul

Sales tax officer
